History of the Firm
The roots of Gaines & Fishler, LLP date back to 1924 when Herbert Ginzburg began practicing law on Staten Island. Mr. Ginzburg quickly gained a reputation as a fierce litigator and astute lawyer. Consequently, his practice quickly grew and upon his retirement, he was widely respected throughout all of New York City. Ginzberg had two sons, Spencer Gaines and Alan Gaines who both became lawyers. The firm then became known as Ginzburg, Gaines & Gaines. The practice expanded even further. Spencer Gaines concentrated his practice in the areas of real estate development and finance. Ultimately, Ginzberg, Gaines & Gaines became the preeminate law firm for builders and developers on Staten Island. Robert M. Fishler became associated with the firm in 1984. Throughout his association with Gaines, the practice continued to grow. Mr. Fishler continues to carry on the traditions and practice of Ginzburg. The firm represents owners and developers throughout New York City and nationwide. Mr. Fishler's expertise in residential and commercial development, leasing, and transactional matters is widely sought out by individuals and large entities alike.
